Making in salon operations simple, convenient, cost effective whilst enhancing the customer’s experience.  How can we incorporate technology into the salon model to cut staff costs and service time whilst also engaging customers to return? 

MY ROLE

Lead and solo designer – discovery, user research, design, testing, deployments and refinements. 

PROBLEM

​Salon staff had to spend time speaking with clients about what services they provide, as well as taking the time to note down data and book them for an appointment. This resulted in staff not utilizing time effectively, customer data errors and potential customers turning away due to wait times.

Re-design of an app made whilst working for Shift8

RESEARCH

An extensive study on in salon operations and workflows determined that stylist turned out to be repeatedly distracted from their clients as they needed to constantly attend to the reception desk.
